Maybe mech said wrong number? P0175 is a generic code you can look up anywhere (or JTIS for your specific car - try it!).

P 175 means the bank is running rich. Maybe you misunderstood, or ...Maybe time for a new mechanic?

If it really is P175, try cleaning the MAF according to directions in the archive.

It would be helpful to know the year and model!

If your mechanic is using a generic reader, and getting the interpretation from the reader instead of the Jaguar DTC summary, it's probably an error. Does you mechanic have a lot of experience with Jag's?

Default P0175

Google OBD II code P0175. You need to clean your MAF sensor! Then try a can of SEA FOAM to clean the injectors. and reset the codes.

Your mechanic should know how to do this. But you might print the tech writeups you find on Google (I used DuckDuck Go). The second search listing was nearly perfect.

throwing it out to you. I had a p0172 and a p0175. I found two vacuum lines off from the TB and the breather tube from the drivers side ( USA ) front of the valve cover was clogged. clean your MAF with CRC and apply dielectric grease then snug in place with two wire ties on each side. this worked for me..

P0715 Mercedes-Benz - Transmission Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Possible causes
- Faulty Transmission Speed Sensor
- Transmission Speed Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Transmission Speed Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
What does this mean?

When is the code detected?
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0715 is detected when TCM or ECM does not receive the proper signal from the sensor.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible shifting problems
P0715 Mercedes-Benz Description
The input speed sensor detects the primary pulley revolution speed and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM).

On the ZF transmission the P0715 would probably mean an electrical connection fault at the rear of the transmission or between there and the TCM. The sensor itself seldom fails.

Vincent-
I do not know if you have realized this yet, but your original post says the code was P-0175. P0175 does not equal P0715. That may be why you think we are all crazy and we started thinking the same of you!

Anyway, it sounds like you are on the right track for P715!

Guys, I rarely but this time I am really running out of the clue and really appreciate any input

my instinct still tells me there should be NO problem on the transmission itself but some electrical issue around it. because all of those issue happened since I cracked the original assembly and changed another 2 but issue persisted

what is the solution of error code P0715

so far, I found it is related to engine speed sensor, transmission conductor plate and before, the shifter linear switch

I just spoke with my friend who works as a mechanic for M Benz

he mentioned about valve body circles board 722.6 mercedes

Vincent:
OK, I think by now you have realized that the codes for a Mercedes are not going to be the same as your XJR- The gearboxes are the same, but the control modules are different. Frankly, when you started quoting the mechanic who was telling you some crap about "solenoid 8", I did not care to get in a pissing match with a professional (which I am most definitely NOT!).

Anyway, here is the code P0715 possible causes line from the JAGUAR service manual. Notice there is no mention of any solenoid. It sounds as if either a speed sensor switch, or a wiring connector, or maybe even the transmission module might be the problem. It also implies that the sensor has a "hard error" as opposed to an unreasonable value error, so it can probably be diagnosed with a DMM.
Good luck.
