Default LNC4610AB Verses LNC4610CB ?

Is there anyone fluent enough in Jaguar part numbers to tell me if these parts are interchangeable? They are both part numbers for the right headlight assembly. Both are genuine Jaguar and both claim to fit my car. Are they simply made in different factories?

Thanks.

Hi Harvest14,
Jaguar Classic Parts lists both part numbers,
ProductModelCategory
LNC4610AB
XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308)
XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308 - Canada/Mexico/USA)
LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/INTERIOR HEADLAMPS HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY

ProductModelCategory
LNC4610CB
XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308)
XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308)
LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/INTERIOR HEADLAMPS HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY

Only difference is one mentions Canada/Mexico/USA so perhaps that's the reason for different Part No's.

Andy

Hi Andy, I think you nailed it. The LNC4610CB is the European (ROW) model and the LNC4610AB is the USA/Canada market model. So, is there a difference that would prevent me from putting a CB assembly on one side when I have a AB assembly on the other? Does the light diffuse differently? Will it look funny or mismatched? Is it simply a marketing / shipping designation and there's no darn difference at all?

Hi H14,
I would think they would be exactly the same part with no problems affecting fitting or using the assembly.
I can't think what would be any different from a left or right hand drive car involving the headlamps.
LNC4610AB£373.29
As you can see the images are the same for each but there is a price difference.
LNC4610CB£349.13

Here's the link's for each page as well.

have run into later production parts with alphabet designations differences. I have not studies the x308's lens layout -- are the rights and lefts different or do the tackle the different driving direction with aiming. Some MB's years ago had the far side shoulder lens difference.

I can't see a difference in the lenses from one side to the other. The bracket is different obviously, and that's what the assembly part number label is on. Someone told me the reflector portion of the lens assembly was different for the ROW version, but they weren't sure about that. Again, I have looked at exploded photos and can't see a difference.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a brand new LNC4610CB headlight assembly for my passenger side. I got a very cleaned used driver side headlight assembly from another member on here (Col. Sandurz) which made the passenger side look dingy by comparison, thus this purchase for the passenger side....

I'll let you know the results when they get here in about a week.

Default Flare on the wrong side of the road?

My car is right hand drive, and there is a kind of flare that lights up the pavement on the left of the car. Whenever I drive abroad I black this part out as per most drivers here. I think this is less pronounced in the jag but I've noticed this will get in the eyes of oncoming motorists if not blacked out in most cars.
I think this might be on both sets of lights too?

Default The results thus far...

The European spec headlight assembly arrived. All of the numbers, letters and other symbols are identical on the face of the lenses. The bracket and connectors are identical. On the low beam I can see a very small inconsistency in the reflectors in the back of the lens assembly. A small flat spot on one that's not on the other. Standing in front of the car with the headlights on or off I can't tell them apart. I would never have noticed that inconsistency in a hundred years if I hadn't been looking for "something" different.

When I log some night driving hours I'll see if there's anything different. So far I am pleased.

New assembly

New assembly at bottom, old one at top.

To my knowledge light direction specs are different for USA and EU. In USA low beam is simply pointed down, in EU it's pointed to the side of the road. I know when I wanted to bring car from EU to US this was one of the (costly) things I would have to get done. If you bring US specs car to EU you can by 'patch' that you stick on the headlamp to block low beam light from going to oncoming traffic.

Since it’s on the passenger side it’s on the side away from oncoming traffic. Maybe it won’t be a big deal. The beams looked the same on the garage wall.

When this hurricane is gone I’ll pull it out of the garage and do some test driving. I asked a tech from a Jaguar parts house and he said you could use the EU spec in the US but not the US spec in EU markets. I don’t know if he knew for sure or was speculating.

I did about 60 miles of night driving Thursday night. Looking at the headlights straight on they look the same but the beams are shaped slightly differently when I shine them on the garage door. The USA side is more of a square beam and the EU side is an angled beam that flares out a little on the outside. When driving down the highway I could tell the passenger side (EU assembly) would illuminate a little more of the side of the road with that "flared out" portion of the beam. It still aims low and wasn't at mirror level for the cars in front of me, but I could see the shoulder a little better. I liked it!
