Default The long and the short of it . . . .

Please forgive a silly question, I'm fairly new to all things Jaguar. I know there are long wheelbase XJs and short wheelbase XJs; but what is the easiest way to tell the difference, aside from the exterior badging?
Where is the additional length placed? In the rear passenger compartment?
Is it easy to tell the difference from SWB to LWB in a photograph?
Thank you.

It is pretty darn obvious. The LWB models look like they were stretched about 10-12 inches and don't look as clean proportionally.

Heeeyyyy, what do you mean don't look clean proportionately? My girl looks real clean proportionately....
...as what TreVoRTasmin says, you can see the extra length on the rear door, though its not 10-12 in, its only 4 or 5" I believe.

A nice sunny cropped pic

Highhorse,
Thank you for the response, your car looks great!
As for "Trevors" response, I hope those anger management classes work well for him. It's easy to see the difference between SWB and LWB people.

I have One Of Each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People riding in the back seat appreciate the extra legroom.
People driving DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rear door/window glass is the most noticeable difference, That is where the chassis is lengthened. (Just forward of the rear seat)

Thanks Mike, there's a lot of Maguire's on her there. I'm originally from PA myself....north central on the NY border.

Bob,
You are a lucky man indeed! Thanks for the response, and the information. I wish you all the best with both of your great cars.

Highhorse,
As a much younger man, my family used to go to Sinnamahoning, in Potter county. Anywhere close to where you lived?

I've never been down in there, been all around the area a bit. But if you look due north of there, you'll see a town called Shinglehouse, outside there is where I grew up on the McKean Cty side. That whole area including Sinnamahoning is the #1 white tail kill area. I went to college at Williamsport.
