The gaiter has come loose on my right front shock, it is item #10 in the diagram below.

It simply slides up and down the outside of the shock. It is supposed to be held at the top by something.

I recently replaced the upper shock bushings. Could I have knocked it loose?

What holds this part in place and can it be reconnected or do I have to replace it?

Nothing to worry about. Try shoving it up into the upper mount.

 

A little bit of adhesive or silicone caulk between the outer edge of the gaiter and the upper mount will hold it from slipping down
