Having a key made by the dealer using a VIN is he first step in the process. Because of the year, the key is chipped and will have to be programmed to the vehicle thru the SCLM (security control and locking module). Which would require the vehicle present at the dealer for programming. The are a number of reputable lock companies that can produce a key and program it in your driveway. Try a google search for your area.
Now as far as a donor car, even if you swap out the ignition switch, all door, trunk and glove box locks the key would still have to be programmed for the SCLM to accept it. The SCLM is the module that tells the engine it can crank over. Swapping the donor to your car would give you a wrong part installed and you would have to have the donor SCLM programmed to the CAN bus so it can communicate with the other modules.
