I can see his point because it's metal.
If it's actually an issue I've no idea.

I think you would need the heat shield (reread #20)

I would highly recommend siliconeintakes.com for a real carbon fiber tube. You’ll have to make your own intake though. Much less heat than aluminum.

Does not matter.... the thermal transfer from the pipe to the intake charge air will be insignificant. Unless you have massively increased surface are (like your intercoolers), the pipe does not have Signiant surface area compered to the amount of air being sucked through. Charge temps for these cars are pretty high anyway, gen3 Heatons are not kind combined intercoolers are stabilized off your cooling system. an extra PSI of boost will add much charge temp then the aluminum tube.
