Name badge plaque?
I am looking to replace the name plaque on the boot lid (not the one that says jaguar, but the one that says Vanden Plas)... But I cannot find one anywhere... I am curious to know if anyone knows where to get one, preferably new (if possible)
Or if I should just use a different one (XJ8L, Sovereign, etc?)
The one I have looks like crap.
Also, anyone have any idea on how to remove them?
Thanks!

eBay is your friend. Just keep checking as these things show up every so often.
You can also likely find the part number at Jaguar Classic Parts, then you can search and inquire with Jag parts vendors. They may have one new.
In fact, see the link below, JCP shows the part still available pretty inexpensively at about 30GBP, so if so I'm sure various vendors can get them.

According to their catalog, HND5994JA is the gray VDP rear trunk badge. But don't rely on me, do double-check

They are held on with a very strong adhesive, so all you need to do is to use a strong plastic tool to lever them off. When I did mine I seem to remember that some lighter fluid helped to loosen the bond and also took off the residue very easily.
Hi Bcrary3,
Once you've confirmed the correct part number at jaguarclassicparts.com per Al's instructions, search that part number at jaguarmerriamparts.com, the Jaguar dealer in Merriam, Kansas who sells new Jaguar parts online at discount prices. The last time I needed a new badge/emblem it was less than $50.00.
The badges are secured to the car with double-sided tape. They can be pried off as nigelmay says, but you may find that it's even easier to use strong fishing line or a thin wire like a guitar E or B string like a cheese cutter, working the wire to slice through the foam core of the double-sided tape. As nigelmay says the part of the tape that remains on the car can be removed with a combination of rubbing off the foam and then using an appropriate solvent to remove the remaining adhesive. Goo Gone, 3M Adhesive Remover, Naptha (the main ingredient in many lighter fluids), etc.
It's not a bad idea to apply masking tape or painter's tape around the old emblem before you remove it just to help prevent scratches.
Cheers,
Don

So I was able to find the correct VDP Name badge from SNG Barratt for about $52.00 USD.
I just ordered one, being that it was a special order item it may be a couple of days yet.

Jaguar keeps infrequently-ordered items like badges in the New Jersey warehouse, so that's probably where it's coming from unless it has to be ordered from the U.K. Either way, it's coming from the same place it would come from if you had ordered it through a Jaguar dealer:
2000 Jaguar XJ8 Parts - Jaguar Parts Center - Call (800) 510-1401 for Genuine Jaguar Parts and Accessories
Glad SNG Barratt was able to help. Please let us know how the new badge looks and maybe post a photo once you've installed it.

Cheers,
Don

Not really looking forward to trying to get the old one out, haha, it looks like someone else already tried to steal it at some point (scratches all around it on the boot lid)
