Need step by step guide to changing coolant on 98 VDP
Hello all, need a step by step guide to changing the coolant on my 98 VDP. Yesterday, the thin plastic tube on top of the engine broke and a lot of the coolant was lost. Just got the car 2 months ago so not too familiar with the car's inner workings. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Here are the instructions and illustrations from the Jaguar JTIS CD.
I created this PDF file from the extract:

Hope it works for you

I will give it a try, jim. I took a second look today and realized that the damaged hose was just part of the problem. Some kind of animal (rodent???) got into the engine compartment and chewed up some wires to the passenger side headlight and most likely did the damage to the coolant reservior hose also. I should have figured it out when I saw some engine compartment insulation material all scratched up and scattered around. Those damn rodents. Anybody with advice on how to keep animals from crawling into your engine compartment and causing havoc??? I have only heard of such problems from others and I guess I am now one to experience it too!
Quick way: take the clamp off of the upper radiator house going into the distribution pipe, and pull it up a bit. Fill until you see the coolant half-way in the house. Reattach the house, and top off using using the "header tank". Takes less than 5min.
