Default New guy, new Jag owner

Hello, I'm new to this site and a new Jaguar owner. I've always liked the classic styling of older Jaguars and stumbled onto a low mileage, one owner 2008 XJ8. This car is absolutely gorgeous and a dream to drive. Everyone comments about it and I feel lucky to have found it. Unfortunately, all my car friends think I'm crazy because of Jaguar's reputation of poor reliability and history of chronic problems. This one has a good history of maintenance, only 55k miles but does have a air suspension problem that from what I've read, is not uncommon. After sitting overnight, the front suspension drops and triggers the "Vehicle too low" message. Most of the time, it raises back up in a couple of minutes and works fine. However, some of the time it won't come up when started. It then triggers a "Air Suspension Fault" message. If I restart it a couple of times, it eventually will inflate the suspension and turn off the warning lights. I've read that it can be tricky to diagnose and very expensive to fix. Any suggestions on where I should start to figure out what's going on?
Thanks for any input.....

Welcome 1carguy...I guess the first thing is, you need to introduce yourself here (site requirement, only takes a minute)... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/

Next, your in the wrong forum, sorry to say...you need to be here... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ ...to find your forum regularly. Top left task bar under Forums, move the mouse over it, it will drop down, you'll be in the Modern X358 section...prompt it and you'll be in your new home.

But, in saying, Jags only tend to be unreliable for people who don't take care of them properly. These aren't piece of crap Chevy's you throw away after 5-8 yrs. Though you seem to have found a nice ride, even with the mentioned issues, the folks in the X358 forum should be able to fix you right up. Lots of great folks on these forums and remember, it is a worldwide forum. Be sure to localize your location so people who may be close might be able to help in person or give direction to someone who can. Hope you enjoy your time here and get your girl on the level (pun intended).

Cheers

Sorry I messed up and did not follow protocol for the site. I should have read more before I started posting. I just posted in the new member section and properly introduced myself so later I will re-post this thread in the appropriate section.
Thanks for the directions.
