Default OEM Exhaust Tip Clarification Requested

Now it's my understanding that the XJRs received bigger exhaust tips, part # NNC6721BA. But some searches also list that as the non-supercharged OEM part w/ same #, now I know they are interchangeable but is the SC tip indeed larger in outlet diameter ?! I found some @ a fair rate & want to ensure they are bigger.

Thanks

KC, from what I've researched the part numbers are different for SC and NA tail pipes tips, and the prices too, NNC6721BA $89.25 and NNE6723AA $38.95 respectively.

I'm 99% sure the SC tips are indeed much larger, and I assume that the inlet size is also larger, and so don't know if the SC tips will fit snugly on the 2" NA exhaust pipe

The muffler and exhaust stub that the tailpipe fits to are listed as two different part numbers for SC and NA vehicles (NNG6784BA & NNG6785 for SC, and NNG6784AA & NNG6785AA for NA) and have slightly different prices, so I can only assume they are different, and that one of those differences may be the size of the end pipe that the tailpipe fits over.

I guess we need a kind forum member who has a SC x308 to remove his tailpipe and measure the OD of the exhaust stub it fits over.

That's how you tell a SC from an NA is the size of the tip. I think the valance is installed to match. My tips are 3.75" OD.

LOL, Okay, so that means it is 1/4" larger diameter than the NA exhaust pipe, so a slack fit for putting a SC tailpipe on a NA exhaust pipe, but I guess it wouldn't be insurmountable, at the very least a shim/packing could make up the gap.

Just go to Summit or Jegs, you can put in the inlet and outlet sizes and it will give you the products they offer for that.

Here's the 2" inlet and you scroll down on the left and pick your outlet... https://www.summitracing.com/search/...g&N=4294896587

Glad you posted that ! I cancelled my previous order because I was told they were the XJR tips & they were not(that 1 letter differential in the part # is crucial lol). I went w/ the Go Rhino GRT236, they're spot on for what I want, thanks.

So these Go Rhinos will not work(easily that is). I misread the description & the inlet is the exact same size as the existing pipe. I contacted the vendor whom exchanged them despite me ordering 5 months ago. I went w/ Vibrant 1503 which are really inexpensive(@ $35 shipped for 2) but well reviewed. I will update this thread when they arrive & report how they last/perform.

Vibrant 1503
Material: 304 Stainless Steel

Vibrant 1503 Round Exhaust Tip fits up to 2.25" OD exhaust tubing. Features 3" Angle Cut Tip with a Single Wall &Rolled Edge. Measures 5.5" in length.

Vibrant Stainless Steel Bolt On Exhaust Tips are a great way to complete your high performance exhaust system or enhance the look of your stock exhaust. This polished exhaust tip goes through a three stage polishing process for a brilliant, mirror-like finish. Constructed completely of stainless steel to ensure optimum corrosion resistance. Inlet is sized by the inner diameter so that it will slip right over your existing exhaust tail pipe.

These are the same length as OEM & will give me the happy medium w/ a 3 inch outlet.
