Default Oil Change

I am carrying out a full service on my car , oil and filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter. Should I flush the engine out or just drain and fill with new oil and filter.

I am being told two different pieces of advice, one to flush the other not to flush.

Would appreciate advice please.

Many thanks

Joseph

Personally I wouldn't do an engine flush. I would assume the car has had regular oil changes during its life, if not during its later life, I would think it certainly would during its early life, and regardless, with modern detergent oils there is little/no sludge left in the engine as there used to be in the pre-detergent oil days.

If you feel you want to be "conscientious", what I would do is perform a "double oil change", I would change the oil and filter, and then 500miles later I would repeat the oil and filter change. And if you want to be triple sure, change it again in another 500-1,000 miles, before returning to a normal schedule.
