Default Oil Leak from top of engine

I have oil residue around the oil cap, the crankcase vent hose, and the little sensor next to it. (Sorry, don't know the proper names on a Jag.) Oil is backing up into the air intake housing, and I'm adding a about a quart every 2000 miles. Does anyone have an idea of what to do about this? It seems pressure is coming from somewhere and pushing the oil out of these places, but not sure where to start looking. Thanks

Your part load breather on the drivers side is plugged up. Carefully undo the part laod breather hose connector and with a 1/8"drill bit by hand clean out the oriface in the cam cover opening. There are threads and pics around here somewhere of it

Hello Brutal,

The size you have given to clean the Part Load breather is too large and will affect slow running.
The correct size is 2.5mm or 0.09843"

Rsamples, how many miles has your car coverd?
Apart from the points already mentioned, you may be well advised to have a 'blow by' test performed on your engine.
I say this because adding a quart every 2000 miles is far from normal with these engines.
What sort of service records are with this car?
How often is the oil and filter changed?

Cheers,
Maximus
