Default P1642, p1000, p1637, p1797

2001 VDP base

Yesterday after a few minutes driving, the car went into limp mode/restricted performance.
After a challenging drive home I put the car on a trickle charge as it has a 2 year old cheap battery.
This AM the CEL is on so I read the codes-P1642, P1000, P1637, P1797. Also this AM the battery was reading 12.4V and 14.4V while charging.
I know I can sort of throw out the P1000.
I recently had the ABS controller resoldered and that has not thrown any codes(until now, ABS, No Tracs were in a list of warnings scrolling in the display yesterday) I cleaned the power contacts to the module this AM just in case-no change.
I was going to take it for a spin but the power steering is very heavy so I know it's going to still drive poorly, so there it sits for now.
I'll bring the battery in for load testing tomorrow to see if that's a thing.
Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Check the drive belt for wear. Check power steering fluid level. Check bolts on the pump. Clear the CELs.

It's getting dark out now so I'll check all of that tomorrow. The belt doesn't make any slipping noises but it won't hurt to check. I was assuming heavy steering from the limp mode, but I don't know that. Would a worn accessory belt throw all of those codes?

12.4 is low and may be a hint that the battery no longer holds much charge.

That's what I was wonderinc, so I took it off of the charger yesterday and when it gets light out I'll check voltage again and then take the battery for a load test.

Default Fixed!

Thanks all for your help.
This morning I bought a new battery after testing the old one again and getting 12.4V again.
The new battery did the trick. No CEL. Steering returned to normal. Just another great running Jag!
