Default Partial load breather hose removal

Guys is there a special tool used to remove these hoses- it is the hose that attaches to the partial load breather on a 2000 XJR- I got some directions that show a tool depressing it to remove- it is in an extremely awkward hose clamp- thanks Cole

+1 on that. It is the tool needed. The car has one hidden somewhere if a previous owner or mechanic hasn't tossed it. On my XJ8 it was inserted in a fitting under and near the throttle body on the drivers side.
On my XK8 it was just left in the part load breather fitting.
The purpose of the tool is to push the outer straps outward to release the fitting. You can carefully use needle nose pliers inserted and then spread to press the straps. The tool is best.

Thanks guys I think I am the victim of a previous owner or an over exuberant mechanic- I looked and could not see it on my 2000 xjr I will have to search the web to see who has the tool for sale- Thanks again Cole

I think external circlip (opposite action) pliers can do the job.

Also you can reverse snap ring pliers to open and spread the clasp.

Also.. an easy solution .. in a pinch..
insert 2 small jeweler style screwdrivers (medium size 1/8" size) in between double plastic rings, one on each side opposite each other, then "squeeze" the handles together, allowing round rod of screwdriver to bear pressure outward on the binding ring...
Takes a bit of practice, but works every time for me.
( Seen for sale in 99cent stores, Jeweler style screwdriver sets of 4-5 )
