Hi jaguar jon02,
Vern has given you an excellent reply despite the difficulty of reading your post.
You can help yourself and help the rest of us by proof-reading your messages before you hit Submit. Others will be better able to understand your issues and help if you use correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation, and avoid using abbreviations that can have multiple interpretations. For example, does "comp." mean component, compressor, or computer?
Cheers,
Don

As Vern explained, you can't just switch compatible hardware. Many modules aren't plug & play. They need to be programmed with Jaguar diagnostics to function.
Changing many parts together will make the task of troubleshooting and configuring more difficult.

thanks don but i figured that anyone that knows the system would know that comp would mean computer and not the compressor as part of the starting system. as i changed over everything ,what would need to be programmed. all the parts should be matched from the other car.?
FYI, Jaguar service documentation rarely uses the term "computer" in reference to any component. The most common term is "control module," as in Engine Control Module, Transmission Control Module, Key Transponder Module, Security and Locking Control Module, etc. Occasionally the term "control unit" is used, and on the XJ40s what was later known as the Body Processor Module was called the Central Microprocessor (CPU). Using terms consistent with Jaguar's service documentation helps us avoid confusion.
If you click on the Search tab above and select Advanced Search, you can search the forum for relevant information.
