I have a trouble with my rear fog lamps. Although the switch works properly and bulbs are O.K. there isn't no light . So I decided to look at the workshop manual. However it isn't helpful with electrical matters and it refers to PDU User Guide. Do you what is this guide? Where I can find it?

By the way, I would like to notice that although all the directions indicator work properly, the dashboard acts very fast (as some bulb is failed). I don't know if this has any conection with the rear fog lights.

Jaguar PDU (portable diagnostic unit) replaced JDS (jaguar diagnostic system).
PDU was superseded by WDS but WDS will not read the cars from 1988 to 1995.

You should just get a proper Electrical Guide for the correct MY.

You should also include MAKE, MODEL, YEAR to get accurate info.

I have a Jaguar XJ8 3.2 from 1999. I think that previous owner has done bad things on the electrical system: Symptoms are:

- Rear fog lights don't work although bulbs and swicht are O.K
- Boot lamps only work if engine is on (I checked the wires and are fine)
- Altough Reverse parking aid is fitted (have sensors and module) it doesn't work. Moreover I don't have the wire that conects in the module

The only clue that I have is some wires in the trunk join by tape. Please, see the picture (close to the battery).

How can I check where the failure comes from?

Please, anyone can put a picture of the wires in the trunk? this way I can compare mine with yours.

Also I would really appreciate if somebody can make a picture of the fuse box trunk because below there is the connection for parking aid.

You need to look at the stickies and find the download for the electrical wiring diagrams.

In the diagrams, all of the wiring is laid out with their color codes. The color code reference is at the beginning of the book.
