Could any one please let me know if there is a pollen filter on a 2002 Jaguar xj8. And where to find it as I have had conflicting views on the internet. Many thanks mark

 

I actually cannot remember, if I did change the cabin air filter on my 1998 X308. But I found a video, which suggests, it shows where the cabin air filter for a 2002 Xj8 is:

Thus, I'd say, if your cabin air filter is there, you found it, if not, you may not have one...

If you did not fit one decades ago, you are out of luck.

Mark, there is no cabin filters available for the X308 platform.

 

They may be NLA from Jaguar et al but there may be a manufacturer in Mark’s area that could fabricate one for him whether or not he has the original “frame”. This an Edmonton based firm:

Very interesting Ken. One thing that is odd about the X308 cabin air filter location (when they had them) is that even though you have to pull the cowl panel to replace it, but the very ends of the cowl panel is wide open so that water and debris can drain out. So like many other things in life including air, it takes the path of least resistance which means that it will largely bypass the cabin filter and pull the unfiltered air into the cabin.

 

Thank you very much to everyone that has contributed to this problem I think it is time to give up my search for the elusive pollen filter.

 

2001 and newer may have a pollen filter that is under the hood in a panel at the firewall.

after extensive searches I am led to believe that the x308 does not have a pollen filter. I now believe the problem is one of the blower mothers or resistors is the problem and it is booked into the garage on Monday morning. So after that I should have a definitive answer to this thread which I will report on here hopefully to help others with this problem
