Is it possible to (easily) make one or both of the cigarette lighters operational at all times, instead of just when the ignition is on? It would be very nice to have power at all times when I need it. I saw a video of an SUV that just needed to have the fuse put one spot over to make the lighter socket hot, but I am guessing that is not a very common design. Any help is appreciated.

 

The X300 has the cigar lighters on their own relay in the #2 (counting as if they were aircraft engines) RH heelboard location. Assuming the X308 is the same, all you would need to do is replace the relay with a jumper over the high-current pins.

 

As they like a good battery voltage of 12.5 and over, there's probably a reason it's ignition live. It might get you stranded.

 

Maybe he's adding a solar battery maintainer.
