Just got a '98 XJ8 and have a question about the power folding mirrors. I have a switch located on the left side of the steering column. It has positions "Auto" and "Off". If in "Off" position, can you manually fold/unfold the mirrors (manually I mean using the switch)? If so, how? Also, in "Auto", is it suppose to fold/unfold when the car is started/stopped? I'm not sure mine is working properly.....

 

Ok, nevermind. It's not for the powerfold option. Spoke to the dealership and guess that switch is for the tilt steering. Apparently, mine doesn't work, he said probably the motor might be broken. I guess I should have checked it before I bought it. The sales guy I bought it from said it was for power folding mirrors......
