Problem with Camshaft VVT?
There should be a relation between the VVT operation (connected and operating / disconnected and not working) and the noise.
I also do not see how the chain tension should differ from those 2 situations.
Can the noise be traced back to any part of the VVT operation? Anyone with more knowledge about that?
I changed everything else except for timing chain and cam adjuster bracket. Receiving code P1384 which jaguar mechanic stated it could be the oil flow to the vet actuator or the actuator itself. Since I changed the vet actuator I thought just change the cam adjuster bracket also.
I removed the oil pan oil sump to clean them and also, I changed the VVT unit. It fixed the tapping issue now the motor jumps. I think I didn't set the timing correctly and the secondary timing chain tensioner is compromised so that needs changing as well.
Is it a hard job to change the VVT?
Any thought on WHY the VVT made this noise?
