Default Professional Review of 308 Jags/ Performance specs

By Jove, I've found a rare and precious one from the most recessed confines of the world wide web.

Jaguar XJ8 (1997 - 2003) : POUNCING BOMB - Yahoo! Cars UK

I also found some acceleration times from some other old stuff archived online. Sadly, these are for LWB models.

1998 Jaguar XJ8 L - Motor Trend Magazine

When I was buying my car, I couldn't find anything, but now I've found some old stuff. Includes braking, acceleration, lateral G, etc... Now you have some specs to brag about! XJR, btw, is .88 G, LWB is ,80 G

hope this helps, enjoy

Although its an interesting article, the MT article reads like an advertisement. Typical of MT.

Well specs are one thing ... but having a reference to the following original statement is much better:

The proportions of the car are wonderfully judged, leading to a Milanese panel of experts voting it L' Automobile piu Bella del Mondo The Most Beautiful Car In The World, surely a testament to its stylist, the late Geoff Lawson.

The bold text says it all. And we have one of them!

Somehow it just rolls off the tongue better in Italian.

It is extra special because a Milanese panel might have been expected to be biased towards Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.

Glad this was of some interest.

Here's one video I found of Ian Callum talking about our cars... let's just say I'm not entirely convinced. And my comment is at the top, btw.

‪new XJ design- Ian Callum‬‏ - YouTube

One other thing I liked from the Yahoo! article was this line:

"Drop in behind the wheel of an XJ8 and theres a palpable sense of occasion thats missing in its rivals. Behind the wheel youll feel like a charmingly roguish bounder rather than a Junior Vice-President."

I am subscribed to Car and Driver for the aforesaid reasons... MT isn't as good. But, C/D gets rid of their old stuff online, and MT kept it.

I was just kidding. "Plums" meaning testes... unless someone here only has one of those. Yes, I know he was talking about having one of the cars, but he said "The bold text" and 'Plums' was in bold...

So, in essense, a failed joke about only having one ********.
