Project Overboost by B.I. Performance
Other parts are in the works so things have been on a delay for finishing up this monster. I must say this thing will be one hellova beast.
I know it hurts to be patient but man will it be worth it.

Here's a little somthing for you gents. The bottom end was sleeved and got forged pistons and rods. It's a good thing we did this as the factory sleeves were EXTREMELY loose and would have no doubt given way under the load we are planning for it. Also some pics of the head porting.

a 2.9 Liter SC will be fitted with custom plenum and intake manifold as well as a BIG throttle body. Blue Solenoids are in as well as a 3.58 rear. Cams are done. headers are close to done. Deleted cats. cutom 3.5" exhaust. Custom Boost cooling system is in the works.
The liners are slip fit like the V12....due to heat expansion, so no need for the new stuff?
the diff is 3.58 standard. Have you fitted an l.s.d?
With having the bottom end rebuilt have they used new bearings?
The builder said they'd re-use the con rods, if you say they're new, what are they, any pictures? I'd like to know if H or I pattern.
A new oil pump would also be something to replace as a matter of course.
3.5" straight through is a waste of time, 2.5-3" is good, the engine will need slight back pressure, is it using standard manifolds?
From what I can tell as an engine builder, the obvoius stuff is done, but not really neccessary!
I'll back this up with my own performance engine build the end of this week, and it won't take 6 months ;-)
Why haven't they tidied the block and bedplate up, looks grotty.
Not having a dig, just need more info and COST of build would be great too!!!

Stock diff is 3.06. and it is a LSD. I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to the bottom end. I do feel the sleeves and Rods are neccesary. More pics to come. the exhaust will be either 3 or 3.5 depending on the boost. Of course new bearings were used and the rods are forged. I'm looking forward to DOMINATING your XJR
Ok, Here's a few more pics. Just had the block studded. The guys at the machine shop did a fantastic job. We found that we could not get the proper torque for the custom gasket we had made by the stock Torque to yield bolts. Motor will be going back in the car this week and then it's on to operation "Big Twinscrew" among other things. This has taken us 6 months. We know that. This has turned into quite the project and we are looking forward to the finished product.
