CONGRATS then, I am sure she will be better than new in a few months time.
Can you keep your crashed car as a parts car?

Thanks!

I have asked the insurance company about getting the car back. They will let me know what my options are on that this week sometime.

That picture was just taken in a Waffle House parking lot. Now starts the 4+ hour drive we still have left!

I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of that 4+ hour drive home! I'm about to take mine on her first long trip since I bought her in December 16. 8 hour drive to Phoenix and perfect time of year. Temps supposed to be in the upper 80's so finally get to enjoy the cold a/c this car has!

When I bought the black XJR last year I re-placed the rotors and pads with Brembo and Akebono respectively. I was extremely pleased with them! I want to do the same thing for this car. The pads are easy enough, I already ordered them. The rear Brembo rotors are no problem; readily available. The Brembo front rotors that I was so pleased with are not available anywhere! Can anyone tell me the comparable Brembo rotor to the ones I used last year (part number W0133-1612728-BRC)

Thanks

Jeff, what's the mileage on your white Jag? Do you have an extra EGR valve? Mine keeps giving out the codes. Nice car.

I think I do have an EGR valve in the garage. It isn't pretty but I think it works fine.

Can the front and rear seats from an XJ8 be transferred to an XJR?

Both are X308s of course...

Sure can, but they will have a different pattern.

My first Jaguar, the 2001 XJ8, had perfect leather seats with piping on them. They were the most beautiful leather seats I've ever seen in a car. If I could find a donor car with those seats I would love to transfer the whole lot, back upper/lower and both front seats, to my new white XJR. I think it would look very classy.

Did the insurance company get back to you about you purchasing the old one back? Don't you have new brakes you could transfer to your new one? Also if the interior was good on your other car...

The driver seat was better in the black XJR, but the seats overall are better in the white one. It's just the driver seat that's a little rough. If I'm replacing the driver seat it makes me consider options like replacing them all, which made me think of those beautiful piped seats in my first Jaguar.

The insurance company has actually made a valuation on the car. They are going to let me submit receipts for the parts I've bought in the last year and adjust the payout accordingly. Next week we finalize the payout and then I can negotiate to buy back the car. The adjuster called to confirm it's definitely totaled. He said the airbags alone cost $2,800.00. He kept saying "man, that was a beautiful car". Over and over he kept mentioning what an amazing car it was. Made me feel good about our Jags!

Must have been from a Sovereign or a Daimler / Vanden Plas, yeah they are beautiful looking.
I think our member Stu had a Daimler interior fitted in his old standard x308, I recall he was happy with it, but noted the sport seats (as in the sport and XJR) were better fitting him.
He might chime in himself.

My thought as well.

I ordered the IMC Brembo rotors from my local autozone because I got tired of trying to find the ones I wanted. I fully expected to get rotors made in China, especially based on the lower price. To my surprise when I picked them up the next day they were the exact rotors I had wanted, just a different part number. Red box, made in Italy. Go figure!

Hey Maniqz,

If I can find it, and you pay the shipping, you can have it.

What is the brembo part number of the autozone ones? I need to change mine shortly.

Winks -- The AutoZone part numbers were 09A60311 for the front and
JLM020342 for the rear. IMC Brembo.

Maniqz -- Been working a lot lately. I have tomorrow off so I'll go through my parts boxes and see if I can find that EGR valve.

Eric and Addicted2boost -- The insurance company said if I keep the car they deduct $800 from my payout check. I'm thinking I'll take them up on it.

Have never been in that situation, but that means you buy your car back for a mere 800 dollars, right?
If I had the space to park it up, I guess it is a no-brainer ... only the rims already ...
