Default Removing/replacing faceplate...

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the SAFE removal of this faceplate? I got it this far, but am afraid I will break it if I pull any harder on it. The one on my car is cracked, and I found this section of the shifter in a junkyard.
Many thanks in advance!

Hello King!
I tried my best to remover the faceplate off of the junkyard module I got, but it was too involved. FYI, there are three screws that need to be removed from the underside of the module, it can not just be payed off.
No worries.
Do you know how easy/hard it is the just replace the module itself? None of the surrounding switches or electronics, just the module? Or maybe a video reference? I looked all over YouTube, nothing I could find.
Many thanks, you are always very helpful! This is what I would purchase and install.

I did the same thing 5 years ago,.
Just do the face plate, it is not that difficult, just be sure you do not bend the little switches underneath.
This is for an XK, but the exact same principle.

Awwww MAN. I sure wish I’d have seen this yesterday. I thought the faceplate was just “glued” down lightly with tabs around the edges. I spent 20 minutes trying to pry it off of an old module I found in a junkyard and eventually broke it. Oh well, now I know, and at least my real faceplate and module are okay, as I was experimenting on the junkyard one.
Do you know of any sources for a replacement faceplate only? It would save me some $$, because at this point, my only option is to buy and replace the whole module.
My faceplate is cracked and it’s driving me NUTS. Especially at night, when the backlight shines through. Looks terrible in an otherwise stellar interior.
many thanks!

Search e-Bay for part # LJA6195BG they are there, new ones run $433, used ones are $100-200 but inquire as to if the lights are tested/working. .

Yeah, the red gear indicator lights on mine work, but the other lights are not working. Doesn't really bother me, since I can still tell that gear I am in. Actually, it is a little less distracting!
Hoping for the best for yours!
