pretty simple undo the 4 torx bolts in rear of wheel housing. air bag lifts off, undo wires . set aside and take off nut in center of wheel. lift off. replace in backwards order. total of 5 steps
Here is an illustration (from JEPC - Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) showing the Steering Wheel (and the bolt that holds the Steering Wheel on - reference number 3).

It's an easy job to remove the wheel and you won't damage it.
My steering wheel was held on with a 15mm bolt, and you might need someone to hold the wheel whilst you turn it. You don't need a wheel puller, it should come off the spline easily.
He had links to photos of the removal, but they are no longer worked - invalid web address.
I sent Ian an email, asking him to email the photos and I will put them on another download server, then I will create a new post in the thread to make them available to forum members.
Here is a PDF extract from the JTIS software - Driver Air Bag R&R

Email me with screen shots of the issues you are having with JTIS running on your Win7 PC - also include what version of Win7 you have (32 or 64 bit).

Just make sure you don't turn on the ignition to second position or you may have to reset an SRS light. Reason being if the air bag is disconnected and the SRS system is turned on the self diagnosis will detect a break in the system and trip a code
