Default replacing abs module; do numbers need to match? help please

Hi. I have a 99 xjr and a 99 xk8. I am getting code 1095 which is the abs module. Just to confirm this, i wanted to remove my module from the xk8 and put it on the xjr to make sure the problem goes away. I did notice the numbering on the module, and my two modules have different numbers. Do the numbers need to match or will any module of that year work. Thanks for the help.

There are 5 modules for the X308/X100 cars depending on the MY and IF the car has traction control.
JLM20555
JLM20556
JLM20129
JLM20130
JLM21323
If you have 5 pipes (6 valves) on one car and 6 pipes (9 valves) on the other valve block then the modules WILL NOT INTERCHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your XK has a VIN 018108 and later, then the JLM20555 (except traction control) or JLM20556 (traction control) are the same as the XJ sedans with or without.

Sounds like one has one has 5 pipes and the other has 6.

You need to call the Jaguar parts dept with each VIN and ask for both part numbers to see if they are compatible.

You will probably find that the XJR has a JLM20556 and the XK8 has a JLM20555.

Good luck

P.S. I just repaired another JLM21323 module because I sold one last week to another shop that did NOT want to cut open the pricey module and risk damage.
It's not hard if you go slowly and cut carefully.

Hey Bob. thanks for the reply. I actually opened mine up, but my leads were just fine. I soldered them either way and i still get the code. Do you have any extra ones that you would be willing to sell. I'd send you mine too if you want to try to fiddle with it.
thanks

If the module has NO cracked solder joints and the C1095 faults persists, then the fault might actually be the PUMP MOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you apply 12 volts to the pump motor to verify it's operation??????

Do some diagnosis and report back before condemning the module.

It's rare but the pumps can fail.

Hey Bob. Well, after checked, my xk has 5 lines and my xj has 6 lines, both with traction control. Can you guide me in the right direction in testing the pump? Where do i connect power to? I tried to search but found no info.

Unplug the pump motor and apply 12 volts to the pump wires (NOT to the module).
It does not matter which way the polarity is applied because the motor will spin either direction and you only need to run it for a second or 2.

Bob,
New to the forum and new 2001 VDP owner. Just got the TRAC OFF/ABS unavailable error - dealer says don't worry until complete failure then cough up $3000. Have follwed some of your post. In looking ahead to possible replacement of module; do you have any experience with Internet retailer "Module Master" who states they will rebuild the ate/teves mark 20 module for approx $100 plus shipping. Thank you in advance.

I have NO experience with any module rebuilders because I repair the modules for the C1095. I discard the modules for any other fault.
Some people have sent the modules off for repair with good results.

Did you use a local shop or specialty shop you would care to share the name of? Appreciate the response.
