Default Sunroof Interior Back Panel

Had my headliner replaced. The back small panel gets pushed and pulled with the part in the video. As you can see it has a torque to the middle of the car and pops out as soon as sunroof motor engaged. Anyone have a solution? Thinking of drilling out the nub and replacing with small bolt and nut.

DO NOT try to bend that arm.
It is a cast part and WILL snap, NOT BEND (ask me how I know)

I had another mechanic try to 'help' when I had a sedan in for sliding roof warranty work and he broke that part trying to bend it into shape.
I ended up replacing the 'tilt/slide/ mech complete.

I learned that if you want the arm at a 'better' angle, bend the FULCRUM PIN and NOT the arm!!!
A few pliers and the fulcrum pin can be bent to keep the pin in the hole!!

Fixed many after I learned the 'trick'.

A very common problem.
When searching for solutions a forum member posted that he had fashioned a couple of clips made from stainless bits from a wiper blade.
I ran with the idea but used spring stainless steel sliding window screen clips. Although intended as a temporary measure once they were clipped over the pin and slider they have been fine for the last couple of years.
Notice the little nib that locates in the hole.
Thought about bending the fulcrum pin but access is awkward without removing the steel panel. Can this be done?

The sliding roof steel panel needs to be removed for access the fulcrum pin.

Appreciate the confirmation that the steel panel needs to come out to bend the fulcrum pin.

This is the fulcrum pin to bend? Can’t see how to do without damage. It looks to be riveted in.

Hold the part VERTICAL and using some CHANNEL LOCK type pliers, BEND the assy towards the rear. The pin will bend and the peg will stay in the plastic block.

Okay, I think I understand. The part to hold vertical is the arm that pivots with the two nubs. Grab that with a channel lock and bend. I'm guessing good idea is to have another channel lock on the long bar on the same time to prevent it from bending
