My '01 XJR/Mercedes trans has developed a clicking noise - sort of akin to a loud valve tap. It only occurs when put in gear - forward and reverse - and when the trans is cold. The clicking frequency changes with engine speed. I thought it might be low on fluid but the level is correct. Fluid and filter were changed about a year ago. 80k miles. Trans is working fine otherwise. Hoping I don't have a pump going south. Any thoughts appreciated.
