Default Is there a way to disable DTC's?

I was wondering if there's a way to disable certain DTC's. Is this something the dealer could do? On my Subaru WRX, I can and have disabled unnecessary DTC's with a hand held tuner and would like to do the same to the XJR.

I removed the EGR and the check engine light is on.

. . . and I have had DTC's removed ICW a Ford engine swap . . . but the Jaguar is such a low volume auto that I am not aware of anyone that has spent the time to profile the Jaguar ECM.

There are a couple of 'tuners' out there but they seem to be reported as ineffective in their efforts to significantly affect our cars.

The historical solution is black electrical tape over the CEL.
