Tire wear mileage
Hi
Just wondering how many miles people get from their tires on these cars ? Assuming there is no failures on wheel aligment etc. My continental premium contact 6 seems to last like 26tkm (about 16t miles) and then they are at the suggested minimum from the tire maker. Does these cars eat tires more than other similiar weight and style car ?

Obviously a lot depends on the way you drive, and the type of tire.
I have Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS and have done 13,000 miles on them, they look as though they will probably easily last 30,000 miles total before I will replace them.
I drive gently most of the time with some spirited driving on occasion.

I only got 18,000 or so on my first X308's original Pirellis: replaced with Michelin Pilots and did 30,000 before trading the car. Tires were like new. Got 30,000 on the new Coopers on the last unit, tires were like new when traded. So, so much depends on the tire; how you drive, weather, tire pressure you routinely run, and where you are located (high camber roads in Europe will wear tires faster than US Interstates) . . . . .
Dang. Of course I didn't tell how I drive. I do drive very gentle too. Roads here are highly grooved and very coarse surface. I think I'd try Goodyear eagle asymmetrc next time. I don't know about the width of the tire. Should I go with the narrower and slightly taller or should I go back to the stock size. I don't know does the width show on the tire wear how much. We are not talking much difference here. 255 vs 235 if I remember right. But width sure make a difference how sensitive the car is to the grooves, I think?
As for road sensitivity, that is determined mainly by proper alignment. A good alignment shop can set a car up where it drives straight, isn't affected by crosswinds and doesn't follow road grooves etc.
Tell us where you live; it helps with the discussion. Find that little box up in right hand corner: modify it to show location.
I am not a fan of switching tire size, nor Goodyears for comfortable ride.
