I'm ​ trying to work out my trim and paint colour is.. The label under the bonnet has worn off.
Can I tell from the VIN?

Also can I sell my jag here?

Trim and paint codes are on the info plate inside the driver's door end.

 

My model is 2002 X308.. Nothing in door jam But plate under bonnet Next to radiator But has worn Off Regards Stephen

 

Hmmm, must be different in the UK? All 1997 thru 2003 X308 XJ8s and XJRs here in the states have an info plate on the driver's door with VIN, paint code reference number, trim code reference number, and year of manufacture.

 

VIN does not tell you paint or trim color..............here is a VIN decoder for Jaguar X308 year 2000 onward.

 

Maybe the info plate is on the front passenger door on UK models?

The UK X308 has the Manufacturer Label on the body front upper crossmember. Unfortunately the Paint and Trim codes are not recorded elsewhere on the vehicle.




The full specifications were available for anyone to see on Jaguar TOPIx until late last year but JLR has now blocked this information in response to Data Protection Regulations. Although the VIN does not include this information, any Jaguar Dealer can look it up for you from the VIN.
