Scraped the washer fluid reservoir on my '98 XJ8L and now it has a couple minor leaks. Short of replacing it, is there anything specific this forum would recommend to do about it? Melt some plastic onto it? The old gauze/epoxy trick?

"Minor" leaks? I don't think any glue would adhere well to it being PVC (I believe). Probably the best way to repair it would be using a PVC welding rod and a hot air gun. Hot air welding rods, made of different plastics, are available on Ebay.
best I could tell would be to pull it out and add another layer of fiberglass and epoxy. But at that point, you've got it out of the car, and investing money, cheaper to just replace the whole tank with a used one as suggest above. Last one I saw was like $70 and was a complete tank top to bottom, pump and all.
Fixed tank on my older car with Plastic Tank & Radiator Repair Kit from ebay, comes with fiberglass and is a bit elastic after dry, held well till the end
