Default What colour is my Jag?

Hi All

I need to get some paint for my 1998 XJ8 but the bonnet has rubbed the paint code off the sticker!

I think I have narrowed it down to either 1753/HGD British Racing Green or 753/HFB Brooklands Green but I could be wrong on both counts.
The VIN number is SAJJHAMD3CR828272.
Can anyone help?

Cheers
Glen

Nothing more difficult then checking colors from a picture.
Pretty sure it is too dark for Racing Green.
Not sure Spruce Green (HGL) was ever available in the UK, but it seems rather close to what I have on my 1998 VDP (USA version).
An other green available in 1998 was Aspen Green (HGP), but I have no idea if that comes even close.

My VDP is Emerald green (HGG). It sort of changes in the light between green and medium blue. So many shades !

These cars are old enough that I'd definitely talk to a local shop about mixing you up some paint. They can actually match your current paint, which 100:1 is not a perfect match for the factory color code. They actually scan your paint and mix accordingly to fade and such.

Thanks, this was my plan B, I will take the fuel flap in for matching.

Try calling a Jaguar deal and have the chassis number and registration number on hand.

The parts department should be able to find what colour you have from the above info.

Or you could look on the driver door sticker for the color code.

Matching is probably the best; the shop will be able to scan and mix to account for fading.

Well, I was put onto e-mailing my VIN to jagcrc@jaguar.com who are customer support and they came back very quickly to say is Sherwood Green HGE so none of us were right, but at least I now know.

Thanks to everyone for your help.
