No , J-Gate & switch bulbs are separate entities they all have their own bulbs(albeit the same bulb type).

Replaced the water pump today... Just to find the tensioner bolt snapped on me. The bolt you use to loosen/slacken the belt... SNAP off. So a new tensioner has been ordered. Can't really test the pump.

The old one though was a plastic impeller model BUT it was fine. So it must have been changed along the lines OR it managed to survive. It had the steel gasket, which was a later design, if I am not wrong...

@ King Charles

I noticed, I HAVE got one pulley with a lip. That would be the idler. I USED to have an idler WITHOUT a lip and the tensioner had the lip. NOW I have the tensioner WITHOUT a lip and the tensioner WITH a lip...

Yes I'm going back to the lipped idler pulley ASAP. I've pegged the chatter down to the idler pulley. I doused the belt in talcum powder & the noise stopped, so I'm banking on faulty belt or pulley misalignment. The Gatorback/my initial belt replacement didn't look to be the correct size when I matched it up against the original. It was an E-Bay purchase so whom truly knows if it was the correct size lol.

Well, it's not a rainy day today, but I added another elasticated strap in the trunk for a place for the collapsible "brolly".

It keeps it snug, and easy to get to.

Today I replaced the Bank2 (Left) Upstream Heated O2 Sensor went to get my Emissions test. P1647 cleared and passed emissions tests. Then I went for a spirited drive up one of our great Colorado Canyon roads. I forgot how well that 4.0 can actually perform when in correct form.

Once home without being arrested and a BIG smile on my face, it was celebration time with a Pappy Van Winkel's 23 year old Reserve Bourbon on my shelf - that is getting kind of pricey these days !!!

Tomorrow, a drive in my '68 TR250 - drop head!

Sometimes you see light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train ...

There is a surprising variable in what a given aftermarket supplier allows .. also the rubber and "V" angle (or angles in serpentine). With MB's, Continental typically works w/o issue .. but Gates are problematic. The backside construction is equally important for noise. It does not take much to throw off the tensioner. With the small sample of Jaguars -- it's harder to lock in a suitable steady aftermarket supplier.

I just saw a Jaguar in my neighbors back yard today and went to ask him about it. It’s a 1997 XJ6 with 90,000 miles. He picked it up as a “tinkering” car. I can’t help but wonder if it was at least partly motivated by seeing the various Jaguars in my driveway over the years. It’s contagious you know. I might be a carrier...

I was asked a few weeks ago by an older bloke how much work my XJ8 requires and what I can recommend. I recommended an X300 as XJ6 from around 1996 with the then new Euro 2 Emissions.

Guess what is now new on the block... Silver XJ6 (not sure if 3.2 or 4.0l).

Reinstalled my OEM idler pulley after cleaning & lubricating it , along w/ a new belt. I think I've finally solved my serpentine noise.

Trying to remedy the last small knock I have in the rear end. I checked the wheels for play there was zero, so not the bearings. I crawled under & checked the exhaust which is loose on the driver's side, the side where the noise originates.

Anyone know if I can refresh the exhaust hangers or should I just replace them w/ new units.

Do you still have the rubber grommets in the aftmost hanger and are the upper 2 bolts tight as a tooling combination can get on the 2 . Can't remember the combination by my muffler post was outside the hanger grommet and welded to the outside of the metal hanger as they couldn't figure the tooling out .Requires removing the 2 bolts so you can bring out and slide the post into the grommet .

Where did you source your grill from ?

Default King Charles, here is the switch in action.

I got your message and I had just walked in the door; been gone all day. I went out to the car and plugged the cruise control switch into my car to test it.

One picture is with the switch plugged in but the car off (switch not illuminated).

One picture with the car on and the switch illuminated.

One picture with the switch illuminated and turned on (red indicator light).

It appears to work perfectly fine.
