I did something that I've wanted to do ever since I did my first drive in an x308 XJR... took it on a big road trip to Skyline Drive! Start to finish, and touched on a couple dozen miles of Blue Ridge Pkwy, and back up to the north end of Skyline over the course of a few days. And the car took it FLAWLESSLY. Well, except the pesky front-end vibration that I can not figure out for the life of me, and the trans shifting a little harsh (issue with this Ebay trans I haven't sorted yet), everything else worked perfectly - even the AC has held up blowing ice-cold since the refresh last summer. Only took me 7 years to get around to doing this...
Phil, there *might* be a chance you’ll need to slide the fuel tank rearward to replace that. If so, you’ll need to have as little fuel in the tank as you can then disconnect the fuel lines underneath *first*. I would advise against pulling the filler neck downwards to replace it as the neck can crack at the tank. The 8mm nuts are in a bit of an inaccessible location so be patient when replacing this.
The new filter bucket got put in, because it's a UK part I pulled the fuel sticker off the old one, cleaned all the dirt and old adhesive off the back, applied new and stuck it on the new one.

The new rubber part was flexible enough to squash up and over without having to move the tank or filler neck at all. It all went in with the minimum of fuss, I was quite surprised.
Thank you for the words of caution there though.

Looking at the fault the transmission valve body develops at high miles. Guess I'll drop the pan and inspect that, see if it's been changed or if it needs repair or replacement.
I finally got the Upper O2 sensor replaced. I was a bit afraid to drive the
Duchess, because I had learned the Catalytic Converters could get saturated
because of it. However, all is well now, and it is great to drive her whenever I
please again.
Repaired the headrest and cushion tilt on the driver's seat, fixed the tag light housings, cleaned up and fitted some LED festoon bulbs that don't get so warm.
I drove mine to work over the weekend & thought, yet again, that I really need to wash it as there's mould growing in various places. Trouble is car washing weather is also motorbike riding weather...
Replaced the clock bulb I believe I should have used 4.2 wedge led but I used t5 led it doesn't fit properly you will need to sand the t5 socket to fit the clock but it's working fine here's picture ice blue led bulb
