Hi everyone!

Does anyone know what's this connector for? It's in the front od the engine bay near light bulbs and washer fluid reservoir, just found it being there unplugged.

If it's the bonnet switch, where should it be located?
Can't find anything to plug into

The bonnet switch would be mounted on the plastic cowling at the front of the engine bay, it looks like a door switch and is enclosed in rubber. Many have been removed because they stopped working.

I am not entirely sure why there would be a 'bonnet not closed" alarm anyway.
With the direction it opens. even if it were not locked down, the bonnet would
never cause an issue. Besides, you can tell just by looking if it is closed or not.

For the alarm I'd say.

Alright, learning something new every day!
This sensor is missing so I suppose the cable is for that. Won't be adding that anytime soon

North American XJ sedans don't have the switch.
