why is my starter draining my battery, or is it?
Well, my battery has been heavily draining recently. About a full volt in about 30 minutes. i went to start it today and it wouldn't turn over but i checked the voltage and it read 13.21v. I would assume that this should easily turn the motor over, right? I plug my battery to my trickle charger for about an hour to get it up to 14.5v, and then observe with the voltometer as it drops .01v per second. I remove the starter wires at the B+ bulkhead and continue to observe the voltometer, it stopped draining. SO, why is my starter draining power? is it a bad starter. bad wiring somewhere.
i disconnected the starter from under the hood on the passenger side where the two wires are connected through a bulkhead under the engine storage compartment. If it is in fact my starter that is draining power, i think i may just fab up a relay to where power is only available when the ignition is activated.
Here is the electrical schematic for the battery/starter system. There is already a relay for the starter solenoid and I don't really think you want to want to install a relay capable of handling the starter current.
Still doesn't sound like the starter/solenoid.

What is the BPM, please?
