Been noticing the car has had quite a bit of wind and tire noise since I bought it, had other things to occupy my attention but now starting to put some brain cells towards quieting the interior down a bit. I get a pretty fair bit of wind noise coming from the sunroof when its closed up tight. Seems to be coming from the leading edge and while it seems like its sealing ok (no water intrusion even in a car wash for example), I'm betting it might not be hitting its home position 100% accurately. The gasket seems to be in good shape and looks to be on correctly, I have not yet done a paper test or anything. Wondering if there is a rehome position procedure that might yeld good results, or maybe the gaskets just compress over time and maybe you just start to get wind noise as the tiny leading edge gap forms?
Same deal with the doors, wind noise...not like the windows are open or anything, but more than I think there should be. I've noticed the cabin mounted door gasket isn't entirely on the frame correctly and maybe thats part of it, photo attached below, this is the interior colored gasket that is fitted to the door frame and is tucked under the chrome door sill plates, not the black gaskets that are attached to the doors themselves. It almost looks like its a bit too short in length. If I push this rear upper corner into place, then the front droops down and I'm still left with a gap. It looks like its tucked under the sill plate properly, but I'm not entirely sure if it might have been replaced by a prior owner and maybe they just did it wrong? I don't wnt to tug on it or risk damagingit without some advice first as I don't see this part for sale in the common places like rockauto and it might be hard to find since its an interior color.

Any general thoughts?
Thanks!
in your drivers handbook there are instructions for centering the moonroof: download from stickies if you need.
most likely noise comes from wing mirrors: Bob posted a Tech Bulletin years ago: Google.
That door seal was loose on mine too, the local specialist said a dab of superglue holds it in place & it's what they did when he worked at a dealer.
I found I needed to adjust the striker plate on my driver's door too, so the door shut a touch tighter against the seal. In fact I need to do it again as I didn't get it quite tight enough, but that was my fault as I looked at it afterwards & wasn't sure. But I decided to leave it & see if it was enough.
I have been fighting to reduce wind noises in my car. Last thing what I did was inserting a rubber string to inside of the door seal. Thus making all of them less soft but no too stif. This quite a job made great difference. I'm starting to believe that this shape of the body just makes noises. Especially side mirrors.
Take a dry silicone and rub down your rubber seals, but leave the doors open for around and hour to let the seals re-hydrate. You may want to do it a second time after about 15 minutes. Rub them a bit aggressively first go around to clean off what grime may have built up. Repeat as needed.
Now as for wind noise, when reaching about 90mph, you'll start getting noise from the mirrors. Then around 110 the wiper blade flitters and the along with the chrome windscreen trim starts a hollowed sound. This increases all the way up to 155 and that howl from the chrome can be a bit irritating. But then again, your pushing a brick through the air....though the ride is quite smooth as long as you don't have maintenance issues.
Too much traffic here in Central Florida to do that anymore though...its a shame.
