Whats the story on windshield wipers? I went to the local auto parts store and bought a set of wiper assemblies for my 05 XJR as recommended by their ref. book.

They installed OK untill I tried to clip in the washer device. Discovered that I could not fit both the washer device and the wiper arm. The slot was too narrow to accomidate both. It had room for 1 or the other but not both. My wiper assemblies are Trico. WTF?

So then I tried to find wiper blade inserts and discovered the are of a very narrow type that is not available around here. I don't mind going to Jag to get replacements but it's an 80 mile round trip drive.

Am I missing something here?

 

Okay. Heres the deal. The only available source I can find for original equip. windshield wiper inserts (the narrow type) is CarQuest Auto Parts.

Part # 455-245 for the 24" blades
455-190 for the 19" blades

I found 1 of these numbers in an earlier post this site and CarQuest looked up the other. $11.72 for the pair. Hope this helps someone out. Make a note.
