Wires to one injector gettting very hot, intermittent
Last week coming off the freeway and stopping at lights, I could smell burning insulation. Today I found the cause. On the two wires to one of the fuel injectors (front on right bank), the insulation is partly melted.
I ran the engine for a while, and they didn't get warm. Also checked when I got to work this morning.
So clearly the problem is intermittent. What could it be?

You might try and check the injector resistance and then compare to another 'known-good'.
A low resistance will draw more currant and melt the wires.
A big enough draw will fry the output circuit in the ECM!!!!!!!!!
A replacement injector might be required.
