Default XJ & XK Throttle Body replacement options ???

Hi
Are the engines in 2000-2002 Lincoln LS and Thunderbird the same as the ones in 1998-2003 XJ models.

If they are, maybe the throttle body on these Ford engines can be used as replacement for the ones on the XJ models.

I am asking because the list price for a new one from Jaguar is $2250 and it may no longer be available from the dealer.

If we need a replacement, then what reasonable cost options are currently available to us?

The LS has more in common with the S-Type and almost no engine management components compatible with the XJ/XK.

The XJ/XK throttle is Vertical on the rear of the manifold but the 4.0 S-Type is Horizontal.
Electrical connectors are not even close.

The AJ26 is also different from the AJ27 and not interchangeable.

I would guess NO.

the only reasonable market left to us owners is the second hand market, Jaguar breakers, of which there are loads in the UK. The going rate for an AJ26 throttle is £50/$80 and the AJ27 is £200/$300.
No guarantees on the parts being second hand, but like I said, the only reasonable option. I collect them! (AJ27) The 3.2/4.0NA and 4.0SC are all the same apart from the air assist blanking plate on the SC version.

Hi
Here are 2 JPEC file images that I extracted from JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog):

Name: XJThrottleBodyPartNumbers.jpg

After review of all the part numbers listed. It looks like Part number C2A1470 can be used to replace most of the XJ and XK (308 models) Throttle Bodies.

The XJ8 from Vin F00103.
The XK8 (up to Vin 031302) and XKR models (up to Vin 042775) - part number C2A1470 (listed as Other Option).

In fact if C2A1470 can be used on almost all XK models, then it may follow that this part can also be used for most of the XJ models.

LCC1560AA1 is listed for XJR (to VIN 8878717) and XJ8 (From VIN 853936 to VIN F00102).

LCC1560AA is listed for XKR (to VIN 042775) and XK8 (to VIN 031302)
also XJR (to VIN 8878717) and XJ8 (to VIN 853935).

Check out the Images of the JEPC above and see if you agree that C2A1470 is be used on the various XJ and XK models (as noted above).

I thought your original question was the compatibility of the LS and AJ28 S-Type throttle for the replacement of AJ26 and/or AJ27??

All AJ26 throttles can be used on AJ26 engines.
The AJ27 throttle will all fit the AJ27 engines.

The superseded part numbers were issued after the recall about stalling at roadspeed.
Some throttles were replaced with updated units and Jag issued newer ECM software for ECMs that could be 'flash programmed'.
