Randy - they're envious of our X308s. IMHO, the X350 looks like a big Ford Taurus.
Back to the exhaust discussion, I too have the Nameless downpipes with 200 cell cats, currently hooked up to the stock exhaust. I was looking to have a custom exhaust built, but Super Sprint had a sale a few weeks ago, so I went for that; front pipes, x-pipe, then retain the center and rear silencers. It should arrive towards the end of the month or early June. I'll do a thread when the time comes.

My guess is they don't know the difference between an X350/X358 and an X308... All they know is that they have an XJ Jaguar with a V8 engine and they pick the forum that has the greatest number of posts assuming that will give the largest audience to answer their question.

Just following this blog. I'm going to buy a XJ8 or XJR I hope very soon. I would rather have the more rumble or the more throaty sound myself. Could you give me the no name part your are referring to in your answer? I'm trying to learn which JAG would best suit my wants. I'm a 68 year old new member, and am just taken back by the coupe models. Not the convertibles though. Could you point me in the right direction, year, model, etc. of say spending less than $18,000 on a JAG? I once had a Lincoln in the mid 90s that cost an arm and leg to replace the so called air ride. I'm assuming these JAGs with the cheaper prices have the same system, as they were built by Ford after 1996. Do you know anything about the Arnell conversion from air suspension unites?
I'm thinking the cheaper XJs I see probably have a suspension problem, and that may be why the cheaper cost. Is that probable? How long do the factory air suspensions usually last?
I apologize for the winded questions?
Any help you can len would be appreciated,
Dann

If you're a 68-year-old hot rodder, you want an XJR. If you're not a hot rodder, you still want an XJR, and be a DIY'er. If both don't apply, get an XJ8. A good example of either can be had for less than 18k.In this sub forum, we're talking about XJs and XJRs that were built in the '98 through '03 model years. They have traditional suspensions; no air bags. I would look for '00 to '03s.
BTW, I'm a 69-year-old hot rodder and DIYer...

I put electric exhaust cutouts on my XJR right after the headers, they're low profile and adjustable so you can open them a little or lot get a little sound or a lot and then close them up when you're done and it goes back through the regular exhaust system, I sold the car a few years ago but I still have a thread about the exhaust cutouts with pics on here somewhere

Headers!? Are those in the pictures, too? The Jag Wrangler had an article on his website from the 12/2013 issue of Jaguar World Monthly about the Badcat X100. One of the mods was a set of headers that they spent a couple of years developing, and they had a website offering them up until a few months ago.

Roger on the headers, and yea, the cutouts look interesting. I mentioned the Badcat headers as I've been looking at them for a few years, and now that I'm fully retired and have a few dollars to spend, I wanted to inquire about them. Tried to go to the website a few weeks ago and it's been taken down. Guess I'm late on that move ... (again)
