Default XJR Springs

Hello guys,

can someone tell me if I could fix "normal" Xj8 springs on xjr suspension damper?
What is the difference between this springs:
- JLM20636
- JLM20424
- JLM20422
- JLM20423
It is very important because I have to buy tomorrow morning two shocks.

Many Thanks,
Jagblack

You could do that, it's the setup I had on my XJ8 when I put XJR shock absorbers on it. However, the ride was rather unsettled and I consider the ride better in my XJR. The shocks should match the springs.

So both springs have the same size?

Is it an XJ8 or XJR?

It's an Xjr.
My xjr suspension dampers are fine,
but the xjr springs are broken and so i have to replace them.
It's very difficult to find xjr springs in Poland and so that's why I'm asking.

Well, I'm sorry, but based on my experience, I can't recommend putting XJ8 springs on it. Perhaps some other members can suggest an alternative?

I would be grateful if somebody could tell me if it's possible or not. That's the most important question.

It would probably work, but the results may not be optimal.

In non-US markets, the XJR springs are shorter and stiffer
than the XJ springs.

That implies that the distance between the top and
bottom spring pans on the rear dampers on the XJR
is the same or shorter.

In my opinion it isn't a problem if it's not optimal. I need it only for 2 weeks, after that I will fix it with the right ones.

One more thing: I will change only the front springs.
The springs on the back are in a good condition.

Can anyone else approve if it's possible to change the front springs?

It just got even worse. You'll now have front springs softer, and longer, than the rears. Making the front springs softer relative to the rears will reduce understeer / increase oversteer, not a great idea in a powerful, rear wheel drive car. You could be making a deathtrap in the handling department, and when you crash your insurance will be invalid.
