Default XJR and XJ8 radiators the same?

I'm about to get my radiator flushed/cleaned but might be better off replacing the radiator completely.

I'm finding it difficult to get a replacement radiator here (Sydney, Australia).

Are the XJR radiators the same as other x308 radiators?

Regards,
Troy.

Okay, so it appears they are very different :-)

After finding the following website it's much easier for me to find parts (and therefor OEM parts):
Jaguar XJ Series X308 parts | Jaguar Heritage Parts AU

Just had mine flushed. Cools much better, moreover, the heater is much improved, as well. Try that first.

Hi Jim,

Originally I was going to have the radiator removed and cleaned - but due to ongoing issues with overheating I opted for a replacement. To remove and clean (pressure and some sort of corrosive chemical clean) costs about $1,300 here and to replace with a new radiator is $1,700. So I bit the bullet.

Troy.

They remove the radiator to have it cleaned, apparently it's not just a flush. The removal/replace would cost about $800 and the radiator flush/clean is the rest.

Over the top is the price of a new genuine radiator $2,200 (excluding the fitting)

Sorry troy,

My understanding was that, that was the price just for the flush, with you doing the R/R and taking it to them.

I looked at the manual for the r/r process but decided it was above my pay scale
