1990 xj 40 recalibrate tps/ potentiometer
Anyone know how to recalibrate the throttle potentiometer on my car? I removed and cleaned it in an effort to eliminate it as the source of my limp mode transmission fault.with it out of the car I get resistance readings from 5.5 mv to .50 mv. In the car, it will only go down to 1.25mv because of the throttle stop. Even if I had a new one, I would still have to calibrate it.
Does the throttle butterfly close all the way? It should measure. .6 volts at idle(I know the haynes says .5 but trust me), the only adjustment I know of is the 2 screws on the bottom of the throttle body that allow you to turn it
