1994 4.0 s cooling fan dont turn off
hi everyone have just joined. I have had this car for 2 weeks its my second jag ive had. Cooling fans will not turn off when i switch ignition off, woke up this morning and battery is flat. Any ideas please and thanks in advance.
I believe Series IIIs suffered from this culprit you mentioned , fans stuck on .
Sorry ,I can't give you the best idea apart from removing the fan relay each time you stop the engine .
You will prolly end up buying a fan relay ,I hope that's that .
Mine nowadays developed a strange problem , just as I insert the key and even when the engine is dead cold , fans start running on their own along with low coolant light on the dash .

Hi
My 1994 4.0 S just did the same today: fan won't stop.
I just had the air conditioning refrigerant refilled today, and after/during the refill the problem mysteriously began. This should have nothing to do with the fan, but what can you do
However, now the problem is that I can't locate the fan relay, but have to disconnect the battery to cut the fan power. Haynes tells that the relay should be in the LH front corner, but I can't find it? Does the relay look different from normal relays, or should I look somewhere else?

hi there
Its under the front left hand side of the valance (nearside England).
Six screws hold a approx six inch square of splash shield, remove this and look up you will seeit you will probably want a torch. Its about 3 inches long about an inch of it being white the other two inches being green.
Hope this helps. Good luck
