91' XJ40 Wiper not Parking
Wiper does not park in down position, intermittent stops wherever it wants to on the windscreen. I read all the posts (can't find my earlier reply in them), but I went ahead and removed the wiper motor area cover to set the cam and lubricate the mechanisms in there.
But as you can see in the picture some of the cam teeth are broken and the gear seems to be cracked. Obviously, this is at least a major part of this issue.
I don't think this can be repaired, right? The entire motor assembly needs to be replaced?
If so how do you get it off. It appears to have an opposing plate that it's bolted to. These bolts seem to come "in" from the firewall. So what to do here?

I hesitate to refer to Haynes since its been such a mixed blessing for me. It only says take off the wiper arm and remove the biggish nut on the post below the arm. Then on the black housing that the motor is mounted to, take the 3 top bolts out and "detach the 3 clips along the bottom." Unplug and remove the motor.
Seems simple enough, and doesn't mention an opposing plate. **I haven't done this myself** and as I say Haynes has its faults... Good luck.

There is a fuse under the glove cubby that is likley 'open circuit'.
There was TSB for replacing the 5 amp fuse with a 7.5 amp or 7.5 with a 10 amp? (I don't remember)
It is an inline fuse holder so it should be obvious.
The other issue with the windscreen wiper for the XJ40 is the PARK micro-switch in the wiper switch area under the metal cover.
Many of these TSBs are PAPER and were NOT converted to .pdf.
I have all of them in 3 ring binders but lack the time/ambition to convert to electronic media.

To re-visit our wiper microswitch. I have a problem with my wiper park microswitch...?
I've replaced the microswitch in the past with one out of a "stash" I purchased from a major electronics supplier
at about $3.00 each some time in the past. I have a "failure" in a switch I replaced about 3 months ago. This switch
and others from my bag of switches don't work and this fuse has me intrigued as the possible source of my current problem.
By "glove cubby", I assume you mean under the glove box and behind the trim panel?
