Default Can Valvoline change a Jag's oil and Midas a Jag's brakes?

Obviously it would be cheaper than a Jag specialty place or dealer.

Also, does anyone use synthetic oil with their Jag so they can go 5000 miles without changing the oil?

Why not, none of thos etasks is actual rocket science.

The early brake system was a pain, in the actuating side of the system, but if they are only doing pads, and a bleed of fluid, then no big deal. My 18yo daughter did the pad/rotor change herself on her XJ40, and apart from dirty hands no surprises.

The oil is a DIY at any time.

"Oils aint oils" as we say, oil is CHEAP compared to an engine rebuild. use the best you can afford and change it REGULARLY, and the engine last for a very long time.

I use Semi-Synthetic in all ours and 5000kms or 4 months is what they get changed at, no exceptions.

Hi Steve, I don't have an XJ40, but do frequent the quickie oil change place (valvoline to be exact as a matter of fact) and they do my oil changes. I just don't want to mess with well...the mess, and then the recycling of the old oil, so this one gets outsourced. For over four years, they haven't let me down yet (with the exception of their air pressure check...for some reason, their gauge is off and I get 10 psi too much air on one side of the car...very strange. I just check everything when I get home and make any other 'adjustments' as needed. Oil, well w/o getting into any debate...that's been beaten to death 50x over, yes..I use synthetic, and change about every 6000 mile intervals roughly.

As for brakes, i'm sure the Midas guys can do those with ease...if I can do jag brakes, anyone can.

Both can be done. My local Valvoline didn't stock my filter, so now I just bring one.
