Default Castrol Hydraulic System Mineral Oil

I have a 1990 Jaguar Van Den Plaus. Where can I buy the Castrol Hydraulic System Mineral Oil? I purchased it before from Jaguar Columbia, Columbia, SC., however they no longer sell the Oil. Thank you! The number is JLM9886.

Hi Mystic910,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us!

I have moved your post from the thread for the earlier XJ6s (1968-1992) to the forum for the XJ40, which is the Jaguar factory project code for your 1990 VDP. Here you will find knowledgeable owners of similar cars.

Our forum sponsors SNG Barratt, Coventry West and Jagbits may be able to supply the correct fluid. See their links at the right edge of this page.

My understanding is that Castrol discontinued the manufacture of the correct Hydraulic System Mineral Oil (HSMO) in 2013, but that TRW currently offers a suitable alternative, TRW LHM Plus Hydraulic System Mineral Oil, part number PFM201. I have also been told that Pentosin CHF 11S synthetic hydraulic fluid is a suitable alternative. I have not confirmed that either the TRW or Pentosin fluids are correct.

Hopefully other members will let us know.

Cheers,

Don

If your car has had the SLS DELETE, then remove the front pump on the timing cover, as weel as the solenoid block and flush the system to accept DEXRON.

The 88/89 XJ40 and the 1993-1994 XJ40 used the DEXRON as PAS fluid.
