My rear exhaust manifold has cracked on my XJ40, 3.6, 1988. It's the rear manifold number EAC7261. My question is - would a later manifold from a 3.2 or 4.0 do? Also, don't suppose anyone has one for sale at a reasonable cost?

According to my parts manual the rear exhaust manifold part no is EBC3597. And it also states tha this will fit 3.2, 3.6 and 4.0 engines.

Don't have one spare though.. :-)
